Debris Management for Safe Dam Operations

This course will be presented in a discussion format that brings together design engineers, installers, and debris boom manufacturers to provide the participant with an understanding of the dam safety risks posed by debris and the power losses incurred. The course is not intended to be product specific, but rather to provide the participant with the tools they need to approach a debris control project from initial identification of need, concept stage, pre-design, bid supply, and installation. Special focus will center on how third party engineers can provide their clients with a comprehensive pre-bid package that can go out to multiple suppliers. Additional emphasis will look at installation of the debris boom through input with actual install contractors experienced in all manner of boom installation and maintenance. The participant will come away from this course armed with the tools they need to approach any debris control project with knowledge and confidence. Each presenter has more than 20 years of individual experience in the subject matter and has been chosen specifically because of their level of expertise.
